As an MSRE grad student, I led a group of three MBA students in the analysis of Puerto Rico's debt restructuring. We provided the class and the professors with such an insightful investment thesis that our paper was entered into the Turnaround Management Association's Student Paper Competition 2017 (NYC Chapter)

Partnered with a fellow classmate of mine in an in-class competition. We scanned Manhattan for what we felt was the best real estate investment opportunity. We produced a confidential investment memorandum, and provided a financial model. Unfortunatley, the investment committee (classmates led by the Professor) did not grant us money for our condo conversion.

Although, we didn't win in class, we won in life because our project was the only one of five other projects/presentations that actually sold and was converted into condos, which supported our investment thesis.
